About Alex

Hello! I'm Alex and I am a native English tutor from the south-west of England. I’m friendly, patient, and hard-working; with a good sense of humour!

I specialize in teaching children from the ages of five to sixteen years old.

The majority of my eight-year teaching experience comes from working on ESL platforms. My expertise is in intensive curriculums, such as Oxford, Cambridge, and National Geographic.

I’m also a great choice if your goal is to pass your KET, PET, and IELTS exams. So, far, I’ve helped over two hundred children pass their exams with a >90% success rate!

You’ll notice that I have a neutral accent (mainstream Received Pronunciation) and students comment that I am very easy to understand.

I have a passion for accents and dialects. I love talking to people from other countries and sharing my knowledge about England in order to prepare for travel or future work prospects.

My qualifications include a degree in English Language & Literature and a TEFL certification.

I really enjoy teaching kids and teens of all levels and abilities.

After learning about your goals, whether they are particular English skills (speaking, listening, writing, etc.) or wanting to pass your Cambridge exams, I will advise a suitable coursebook for us to follow to achieve them. We can then systematically work through the course covering all exercises in the syllabus.
