My lessons start with figuring out where a student actually gets stuck — not assuming it's the same thing that trips up every reader or test-taker. As a certified Reading Specialist with over 20 years in the classroom, I've learned that comprehension problems are rarely about intelligence; they're about missing a specific tool or strategy nobody ever explicitly taught. I build that tool with you, live, in real examples pulled from your own material or practice tests.
For SAT/ACT prep specifically, I focus on teaching you how to break down a passage or question under time pressure — not memorizing tricks that fall apart the moment a test throws something unfamiliar at you. Sessions are patient, practical, and paced to you. Some students need to talk through their thinking out loud; others need a quieter, more structured approach. I adjust to how you actually learn, not the other way around.
