About Sterling

I have 9 years of experience teaching Chemistry, guiding learners from basic concepts to advanced applications. I earned a B.Sc in Physical Chemistry, which provided a deep understanding of molecular interactions, thermodynamics, reaction mechanisms, and analytical techniques. Throughout my career, I have focused on making lessons interactive, engaging, and practically relevant, helping students develop confidence, competence, and a genuine appreciation for chemistry.

My teaching philosophy emphasizes clarity, patience, and hands-on learning. I create a supportive environment where students are encouraged to ask questions, think critically, and experiment safely. Lessons are tailored to each learner’s abilities, ensuring comprehension, analytical skill development, and mastery of concepts.

Outside the classroom, I actively engage with scientific literature, laboratory experiments, and emerging chemical research to enrich my lessons. Teaching chemistry is profoundly rewarding because I witness learners grow from uncertainty to confidence, critical reasoning, and curiosity. My mission is to inspire mastery, analytical thinking, and a lasting passion for the subject.

Chemistry becomes engaging when students see the connection between theory and real-life chemical processes. In my lessons, I cover atomic structure, molecular interactions, chemical bonding, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, kinetics, reaction mechanisms, acid-base chemistry, and experimental techniques. My focus is on ensuring students develop a strong conceptual understanding, practical problem-solving skills, and the confidence to explore complex chemical phenomena. Lessons include step-by-step explanations, visual demonstrations, relatable examples, and hands-on exercises to make chemistry both accessible and exciting.

Lessons are designed to match individual student levels. Beginners focus on fundamental concepts, simple calculations, and introductory laboratory skills to build confidence and clarity. Intermediate learners explore reaction dynamics, equilibrium, solution chemistry, titrations, and analytical reasoning to strengthen logical and quantitative skills. Advanced learners engage with spectroscopy, chemical synthesis, research-focused problem solving, and applied experimentation to deepen understanding and prepare for competitive challenges. Each session incorporates discussion, guided exercises, and constructive feedback to ensure continuous growth, comprehension, and skill mastery.

Studying chemistry fosters analytical reasoning, structured thinking, and problem-solving abilities that extend beyond academics. Students gradually gain independence, curiosity, and confidence in tackling complex challenges. My goal is to help learners not only master chemistry concepts but also develop a practical understanding of the subject and an enduring curiosity for the molecular world.
