About Opal
I hold a B.Sc in Chemistry and an M.Sc in Chemical Sciences, and I bring over 12 years of teaching experience across school and higher education levels. My academic background gave me a strong appreciation for how chemistry explains both natural processes and modern technological advancements. My teaching style is patient, methodical, and adaptable. I take time to understand each student’s learning pace and challenges, adjusting explanations to ensure concepts are fully understood. I strongly encourage questions and open discussion, creating a learning environment built on trust and clarity. Beyond teaching, I stay engaged with chemistry through continuous reading, curriculum updates, and applied problem-solving. Teaching chemistry is deeply rewarding for me because I get to support students as they transform uncertainty into confidence and develop disciplined scientific thinking.

Chemistry becomes far more understandable when students see it as a connected system rather than a collection of isolated formulas. My lessons are designed to help learners understand how chemical principles link together, from atomic behavior to large-scale reactions. I focus on explaining why reactions happen, not just how to solve problems, so students feel confident approaching unfamiliar questions. Each session is structured, calm, and supportive, allowing learners to gradually replace confusion with clarity.
Students begin with strong foundations in atomic structure, periodic trends, chemical bonding, mole concepts, and stoichiometry. As understanding grows, lessons expand into thermodynamics, equilibrium, acids and bases, electrochemistry, kinetics, and redox reactions. I place strong emphasis on step-by-step calculations, unit consistency, equation balancing, and logical problem breakdown. Practice problems are carefully guided to ensure accuracy and long-term retention.
Chemistry lessons also strengthen analytical thinking and attention to detail. Over time, students develop confidence in handling complex calculations and interpreting chemical data. My goal is to help learners approach chemistry with calm focus, curiosity, and a belief in their ability to master challenging scientific concepts.
