About Harper
My interest in Chemistry began with curiosity about how substances interact and change under various conditions. This passion led me to pursue an M.Sc in Physical Chemistry, where I acquired extensive theoretical knowledge, laboratory skills, and analytical expertise. Over 11 years of teaching, I have guided learners of diverse academic backgrounds, helping them transition from uncertainty to mastery and confidence through patient and structured instruction. I believe that effective Chemistry teaching requires clarity, adaptability, and encouragement. I take time to understand each student’s thought process and learning style, using visual aids, analogies, and stepwise reasoning to simplify complex concepts. I foster a supportive environment where questions are encouraged, and mistakes are treated as learning opportunities, helping students develop resilience and confidence. Beyond teaching, I stay engaged with Chemistry through experimentation, reading, and keeping up-to-date with modern research. Teaching Chemistry is deeply fulfilling because I witness students develop clarity, analytical skills, and independence. Supporting learners’ growth and helping them gain confidence in their abilities is the most rewarding aspect of my work.

Chemistry becomes accessible and engaging when concepts are presented in a clear, structured, and interactive manner. My lessons focus on atomic structure, chemical bonding, reaction mechanisms, thermodynamics, and energy transformations, emphasizing understanding and reasoning rather than rote memorization. I aim to help students see how concepts interconnect, fostering analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a sense of curiosity about scientific phenomena. Lessons are paced to build knowledge progressively while maintaining engagement and confidence.
Lesson content is customized to the learner’s level. Beginners learn chemical symbols, basic formulas, and simple reactions through step-by-step explanations and visual aids. Intermediate learners explore stoichiometry, periodic trends, acids and bases, and reaction types using guided exercises. Advanced learners focus on equilibrium, kinetics, thermodynamics, and complex reaction mechanisms, emphasizing structured problem-solving strategies, accuracy, and conceptual clarity. Carefully selected practice exercises reinforce learning and track progress.
Chemistry lessons also foster patience, logical reasoning, and independent thinking. As learners gain conceptual clarity, they approach scientific challenges with confidence and a structured approach. Many students develop an appreciation for Chemistry as a logical and approachable subject. My goal is to help students gain both competence and self-assurance in scientific reasoning.
