About Tessa
My interest in Chemistry developed from curiosity about how substances interact and transform. I earned a B.Sc in Chemical Sciences, where I developed strong theoretical understanding and analytical skills. Over 7 years of teaching, I have helped students build confidence by explaining complex ideas in simple, structured ways. I believe Chemistry should be taught with patience and clarity. I take time to understand each learner’s needs and adjust explanations using diagrams and real-life examples. I encourage questions and create a relaxed learning environment. Outside teaching, I continue engaging with Chemistry through academic reading and discussion. Teaching Chemistry is fulfilling because I see students gain confidence and understanding. Helping learners feel capable in science is the most rewarding part of my work.

Chemistry becomes less overwhelming when concepts are explained clearly and connected to real observations. My lessons focus on helping learners understand chemical ideas such as atomic structure, bonding, reactions, and energy changes through simple and structured explanation. I emphasize reasoning and understanding rather than memorization, allowing students to build confidence gradually. Lessons are calm and supportive, encouraging curiosity and thoughtful questioning.
Lessons are adapted to the learner’s academic level. Beginners focus on symbols, formulas, and simple reactions using visual aids. Intermediate learners explore stoichiometry, periodic trends, and reaction behavior with guided practice. Advanced learners work on equilibrium concepts, thermochemical reasoning, and structured problem solving. Practice questions are used carefully to reinforce understanding.
Chemistry lessons also help students develop patience and analytical thinking. As learners gain clarity, they become more confident in approaching scientific problems. Many students begin to view Chemistry as logical and approachable. My goal is to help learners feel comfortable and confident when studying science.
