About Alice

Hi! I'm currently a second-year Law student at Durham University, and I'm passionate about helping students develop confidence in their studies and achieve their academic goals.

Having studied both the IGCSE and IB curricula myself, I understand how challenging these programmes can be, particularly when it comes to managing demanding coursework, preparing for examinations and understanding difficult concepts. Through my own academic experience, I've developed effective study and revision strategies that I would love to share with other students.

I also have a strong interest in languages and enjoy learning about different cultures. As someone who has studied multiple languages, I understand the challenges of learning a new language and the importance of making lessons engaging and enjoyable.

I would describe myself as patient, approachable and supportive. I believe that every student learns differently, and I hope to create a comfortable environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, make mistakes and develop at their own pace.

My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to make learning a more positive and rewarding experience!

My lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs, learning style and academic goals. I aim to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing their understanding and building confidence in their abilities.

For IGCSE, IB and A-Level students, I focus on explaining difficult concepts clearly, strengthening subject knowledge and developing effective examination techniques. Lessons can include reviewing syllabus content, working through past papers, practising exam-style questions and identifying areas for improvement.

For Mandarin Chinese and Korean lessons, I take an interactive and practical approach, incorporating vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation and conversational practice. Lessons can be adapted to suit beginners or students who wish to develop their existing language skills.

A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, although this can be adjusted depending on the student's needs. I offer lessons both online and in person in Durham.

Above all, I hope to make learning enjoyable, approachable and rewarding, while helping each student progress at their own pace.
