About Dave - US English
I am a certified ESL Teacher from Southern California.
I hold a degree in Computer Science, spent over 10 years working in ‘corporate America’ and a great deal of that time teaching specialty software usage in the insurance industry.
Over the last 12+ years, I have taught students of various levels and specialized in teaching English to professionals from various industries. I have designed many lessons detailed to the industry-specific phraseology (e.g. financial, automotive, marketing, etc.) -- to fit the students’ exact needs and interests.

Why?
Simply because, when you like the topic, you are eager to learn about it and discuss it. With personalized lessons based on your interests you learn faster and retain what you learn longer. In example, let’s say you need a lot of work with grammar and like cars (a lot!). Then I would put together a lesson, or a series of lessons, based on exciting automotive topics/news and work in the grammar exercises you need.
My lessons are not rigid and no topic’s a taboo. We might start a class with one topic and finish with another – whatever keeps you engaged in conversation/discussion.
