About Maria Valentina
As a dedicated tutor with three years of experience working with college students, I am committed to helping learners achieve their academic and personal goals with confidence. I am currently completing my Bachelor's degree in English Literature with studies in Spanish Literature and Language, which has provided me with a strong foundation in language, writing, critical analysis, and communication.

My approach as a tutor is centered on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence in their abilities. My teaching method combines active learning, guided practice, and personalized feedback. Rather than simply providing answers, I encourage students to think critically, analyze texts independently, and develop the skills necessary to succeed both inside and outside the classroom. Depending on the student's needs, lessons may focus on reading comprehension, literary analysis, essay writing, grammar, vocabulary development, academic writing, or conversational English.
A typical lesson begins with a brief review of previous material and a discussion of the student's goals for the session. We then work through targeted activities, such as analyzing literary passages, improving writing techniques, reviewing grammar concepts, or practicing speaking and comprehension skills. Each lesson concludes with a summary of key takeaways and recommendations for continued practice.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my academic background in both English Literature and Spanish Literature and Language, combined with several years of tutoring experience. As someone who has studied language and literature extensively, I understand the challenges students face and can explain complex concepts in clear, accessible ways. My bilingual background also allows me to support Spanish-speaking students who are learning English.
