About Ilda

After having previously taught Marketing for a few years I have decided to chase an old dream and become an English and Portuguese as a Foreign Language teacher. I have a Cambridge CELTA certificate and over these last years I have helped many students achieve their language goals, I hope you are the next one!

About the lesson

My teaching style is relaxed but professional, and I will adapt the lessons according to your needs. You could learn things like: Language for greeting: ‘Hi, how are you?’ ’I’m very well, thank you.’ Language for repetition: ‘Sorry, could you repeat that?’ ‘Sure, no problem.’ Language for tourism: ‘Excuse me, how can I get to the London Eye?’ ‘You can take the underground to Waterloo Station.’ Language for discussions: ‘What’s your opinion?’ ’I agree with you’ Language for meetings: ‘Hi everyone, thank you for attending this meeting.’ ‘So, on today’s agenda we have the research project for this year.’ ‘Now I’d like to hand over to Michael, who is going to lead the first point: the budget.’ Medical language: ‘What’s the matter?’ ‘My back hurts… and I’ve got a headache too.’ ‘Oh dear… let me examine you.’ These are examples of useful language that you will be able to understand and use.
