About Algis
My first degree (joint honors in Zoology/Pharmacology) was from Nottingham University. I was a Biology/Maths teacher for two years before changing to a career as a teacher/trainer/developer in computer software. I missed science, though, so returned to academia to do a master's degree on Human Evolution at University College London. In 2003 my family and I emigrated to Perth, Australia so that i could continue my studies at UWA. I am a proponent of waterside hypotheses of human evolution and have been a tutor of human biology at UWA since 2005.

I always like to put the topic to be covered in context of the overall subject and try to make it as interesting as relevant as possible. I use good analogies and humor to bring the content to life. I try to break sessions into 15 minute blocks and switch methods and media accordingly.
