About Olivia
I have recently completed my PhD at the University of Auckland in social anthropology and focused on gifting economies, gender relations and the impacts of economic, social and environmental change. I also have an MsC in critical development studies and politics in Africa. I have broad interests and can speak to local UK based politics and policy, as well as international matters such as trade, political economy, colonial histories and feminism across cultures. I have recently been teaching a course on queer theory and intersectional feminism which decenters white and liberal feminisms.

My main method is to get people as excited about politics, philosophy and anthropology as I am through sharing my passions. I set weekly readings and have students reflect on them both intellectually and personally and recognise both their analyses and emotions in response to the literature. I start with core theoretical texts and build into more detailed and themed readings.
