About Gladys

Hello and welcome! My name is Gladys, and I am an enthusiastic English tutor with more than two years of experience teaching English online. I am passionate about helping students improve their communication skills, build confidence, and achieve their personal, academic, and professional goals. My background in communication and my experience as a Communication Tutor at the University of Johannesburg have strengthened my ability to explain concepts clearly, engage with different learners, and create a supportive learning environment.

I believe that learning English should be an enjoyable and rewarding experience. My lessons are interactive, practical, and tailored to each student's individual needs and learning pace. Whether you want to improve your conversational English, grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, or overall fluency, I am here to guide and encourage you every step of the way.

I understand that learning a new language can sometimes feel challenging, so I strive to create a welcoming space where you can ask questions, practise freely, and learn from your mistakes without feeling embarrassed. My goal is to help you become a confident English speaker while making every lesson meaningful and engaging.

I look forward to meeting you, learning about your goals, and helping you on your English-learning journey. Let's work together to make your English-speaking goals a reality!

About the lesson

My teaching approach is student-centred, interactive, and focused on helping learners build confidence in using English in everyday life, academic settings, and professional environments. With two years of experience teaching English online, I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to suit individual learning styles, goals, and proficiency levels.

I offer lessons in conversational English, grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, reading, listening, and writing. I aim to create a friendly and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and practising without fear of being judged. I am proficient in English and Sepedi, which allows me to communicate with learners who may benefit from additional language support.

In a typical lesson, we begin by identifying your learning goals and reviewing any areas that need improvement. We then work through engaging activities, discussions, practical examples, and exercises that encourage active participation. Each lesson is designed to help you make progress, whether you want to improve your fluency, prepare for interviews, communicate confidently while travelling, or strengthen your academic English.

My lessons are suitable for beginners, intermediate and advanced learners, including children, teenagers, and adults. Whether you are learning English for the first time or looking to polish your existing skills, I will support you at your own pace and help you work towards your goals. My aim is to make learning English enjoyable, practical, and rewarding while helping you become a more confident communicator.
