About Blair
As an experienced Policy Analyst with a B.A. in Anthropology and an M.A. in Political Science specializing in populism and the study of the authoritarian personality, I bring a high level of professionalism, variety, and expertise to my teaching practice. Here's how I reassure my students about my professionalism, inspire confidence, and establish my legitimacy as a tutor:
Credentials and Experience: My undergraduate and graduate degrees, my role as a docent and researcher, my time as a congressional intern in Washington, D.C., serving as Campaign Coordinator for a state-level campaign, and my work as a policy analyst serves as a testament to my dedication, skill, and knowledge in anthropology, political science, and related fields. Most of all, my experience as a tutor, especially my time as a peer tutor, allows me to understand the many challenges you may face and provide personalized and practical solutions to help you succeed.
Specialization in Anthropology, Political Science, and Public Policy: The amalgamation of my expansive and extensive background and passion for anthropology and political science produced the focus of my graduate studies on populism and the authoritarian personality. The wide range of topics and subjects covered across both fields of study ensures that I offer personalized and adaptable instruction in these areas. Whether you are a high school student seeking aid in social studies and American civics or a student engaged in your higher education seeking further assistance in the varied courses of anthropology and political science, I have the experience to guide you at every level.
Proven Track Record: I have a track record of success in tutoring. Students at a high risk of failing their respective courses have come to me seeking to reach a passing grade. I never had a student fail to achieve that goal. As a peer tutor, I received perfect performance reviews from the university when observing my tutoring practices and approaches.

Lesson Plans:
Adaptive learning is the foundational approach to my personalized lesson plans for all my students. Every session begins with a subject—or topic-specific foundational knowledge review to reinforce understanding of basic concepts. These reviews will also address goals set at the end of each session, including sessions dedicated to test & exam prep and the post-review of tests and exams. Depending on the needs of the student, lesson plans could include the following:
Visual aids, concept maps, and interactive media technology.
Using multimedia resources: documentaries, podcasts, virtual museum tours, etc.
Real-world applications followed by interactive problem-solving to encourage critical thinking.
The integration of subfields: highlighting interconnectedness and showing how insights from one subfield inform the others.
Comparative studies and analyses.
Focusing on specific themes or issues and exploring those in-depth over a series of sessions.
Historical contextualization.
Debates & discussions of relevant current events or theoretical questions, especially when exploring topics relating to public policies, political ideologies, and civil liberties.
