After my first Statistics class in 2003, I fell in love with the subject. So much so that I decided continue to study it and keep it fresh by tutoring. As I took more classes, I realized that I loved tutoring. I have tutored everything from research writing to history to calculus. It all is fascinating and I love teaching!

Introductions and getting to know the student, assessment of primary learning styles, then tailor teaching and study methods to favor their learning style combinations (Visual, Tactile, Auditory).
My goal is not only to teach a student WHAT to learn, but HOW to learn. My goal is to tutor myself out of a job.
Young students (Middle School, High School)
Traditional College Students (from a variety of majors from english, journalism, nursing, math majors, etc)
Non-Traditional Students (my oldest student was in his 60's, and he was a great success story! I got him through stats so he could finish his nursing degree)
Students with disabilities (Whatever your challenge is, I am willing to put the effort in to help you be successful!)
Remote-Learning Students (I pioneered a remote-learning tutoring program at Northeast State Community College)
Look for someone who is tutoring because it is their passion to help people succeed long-term. This means a good tutor should help a student become independent from tutoring as time passes. They should instill confidence and good study habits/strategies, not just help students find the answers.
I am outdoorsy. I love nature. I frequently go out disc-golfing, fishing, and hiking. I recently took a hike with my older daughter to Laurel Falls that was quite nice. It was good to be out in nature and experience the peace and beauty of the scenery.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Ask why they tutor.
Ask what their goals are for their students.
Ask about their successes and what they've learned about learning by their experience teaching.

I work with the financial needs of each student individually. Every student has different financial needs and abilities, therefore I will negotiate with each student/parents on an case-by-case basis. I am less concerned about the money and more concerned with the learning.
