About Theresa

Hi I am Teresa!

I have worked for over 15 years as an ESL teacher, during which I have taught all levels of (beginner to proficiency) grammar, communication, reading, writing in addition to test preparation including: IELTS, TOEFL, and Cambridge (FCE and CAE). I am TEFL certified as well as a certified Cambridge oral examiner. I feel confident in my ability to teach students of all ages and levels effectively. My experience has taught me the importance of flexibility and the ability to assess the needs of students to help them achieve both their long and short term goals.

The aspects of tutoring that I love most are creating a positive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I would say the most rewarding experience is when students recognize their own improvement and growth.

About the lesson

English lessons offered by Theresa are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in Manhattan Beach. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.

Thanks to her I was able to pass on my exame and now I am working as a Registered Nurse, and got my green card! I love her didactic! She made it easier to understand and our classes were always very fun and entertaining!

Theresa is a wonderful tutor! I've been having lessons with her for a year already, and I can see that my English has improved significantly. Her explanations and examples are always on point. She is the type of teachers that cares about her students, always has been friendly and trustworthy. One time she had noticed that I had a few plants in my room and in a few weeks I received one cute little plant from her, and I didn't even ask about it! Even though I am still having lessons with Theresa, one day I will have to stop them and, honestly, I don't want this day to come. I absolutely love our lessons and recommend Theresa to everyone who is looking for an excellent tutor and a friend!

Theresa has been my 101 teacher for almost 3 years and I genuinely recommend her.
Among the things I like about working with her is that she has proven to be knowledgeable and versatile in the English language. She has helped me to do the TOEFL test, build a job resume, old-fashion English, (even) reviewing RAP music, all over to Legal High-ended real estate vocabulary.
All of that, while me feeling supported and treated with total patience. I would totally agree with any parent or student who is deciding for an English teacher to at give Theresa a try, you will not regret :)
