About Saam

Hello! My name is Saam Khanzadeh and I am an experienced tutor and educator. I have deep passion for literature and the language arts, and it is my ambition to teach these concepts and foundations to students seeking help with literary and compositional comprehension.

I have worked for afterschool and in-school tutoring programs for the last four years through the Sunset Neighborhood Beacon Center, teaching hundreds of youth and helping their academic skills flourish.

I have also worked for the acclaimed writing developmental organization, 826 Valenica, dedicating time to help children and young adults with their writing skills and literary comprehension.

I have a BA degree in English Literature from San Francisco State University, and I am in the process of obtaining my teaching credentials from SFSU so I may become a high school English Teacher.

I hope to tutor you in your quest for a deeper understanding of language arts!

What I enjoy most about the work I do is seeing the students utilize the knowledge they acquire to grow in their pursuit of academic success!

I got started teaching when I was eighteen. I began by tutoring various students in elementary and middle schools in all subjects. As I started college, I shifted my focus to tutoring in my field of language arts. From there I began teaching in programs in San Francisco, ultimately inspiring me to begin the process of gaining my teaching credentials.

I have a BA degree in English Literature that has transferred over very well into helping students gain skills needed in language arts.

I have half a year of official training in developing my own teaching skills through SFSU's single subject teaching credential program.

I have four years of teaching experience with the organization, Sunset Neighborhood Beacon Center, which granted me monthly teaching development trainings through Bay Area Community Resources.

I also have a year of experience teaching through the acclaimed organization, 826 Valencia. This program has taught me valuable skills in teaching language arts to a wide range of different skillsets.

All these have directly related to my work as an educator.

After introductions with new students, I access their educational skills. Aspects of academic success in the language arts include critical thinking, reading comprehension, writing composition, and textual analysis. Knowing what skills the student needs help with is crucial to forming lesson plans around that student's needs to ensure their success in classes and onwards. Once lesson plans have improved a certain skillset, I move on to focus on the next challenge a student needs help overcoming. This process has proved successful for all of my students.

I have worked with all sorts of students. I have spent about four years of my time with hundreds of elementary school students, teaching all subjects to students of various skillsets. I have taught at the middle school level with ESL students to sharpen their English comprehension. And I have spent the last year working in high school classrooms as a student teacher.

Look for a teacher that CARES for your academic success!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
There is no such thing as a bad question for me. If students can think through the question to ensure it is articulated well enough to get their point across, then I am happy to answer!
