About Samuel

I have over six years of experience tutoring students of all ages in math, science, and test prep. My students tend to make rapid progress—in science and math classes, they typically improve by one letter grade over the course of the semester—but I care about the process as much as the results. My goal is to unlock my students’ curiosity and motivate them to become better learners. I live for the moment when a student looks up and says, 'I get it!'

I tailor each session to the student’s individual strengths, goals, and learning style, and I have experience with many different types of learners: auditory learners, visual learners, and students with learning differences. By incorporating flashcards, worksheets, and video resources, I keep my lessons engaging and effective. I also pride myself on being flexible, patient, and receptive to feedback.

I tutor because I love doing it. I love helping students grow in terms of both confidence and skill. If you think we might be a good fit, please reach out.

I started teaching while studying Biology at UT, I found that I enjoyed helping my classmates understand the material, and even more important... That I was good at teaching!

About the lesson

During my first session I ask a lot of questions. I try determine what issues the student is having with the subject or class and why. Then find out how the student is based able to learn and overcome the obstacles they are facing in the class. Then we are off to the races!

I have worked with all kinds of students, students that are under 10 years old, students with ADHD, college students and mostly high school students.
