About Benjamin

From a very young age, I've always been passionate about learning. I love all sorts of mathematics and have delved into several sectors of the field. Currently I'm taking multivariable calculus and am learning Linear Algebra (not to be confused with standard algebra) on the side -- having taken Geometry, Algebra I and II, Precalculus, and Calculus BC. The same could be said about my interest within the Sciences, and although I've excelled in classes like AP Biology, my tutoring centers more around physics and computer science as I feel more confident not just for myself but those I tutor as well. As far as test prep goes, I've had experience scoring highly in AP tests (Nearly all 5s), SAT's (1570), ACT's (35), and PSAT's (1470) and will try my best to pass down my skills to you.

I've learned a lot of what I know through independent study without a mentor of some sort, however through past experiences tutoring others I've come to understand just how influential such a figure can be. That I can be the reason someone finally breaks through a mental plateau. I enjoying tutoring for that very sentiment.

I'm currently a senior in high school and have 14 AP's under my belt. I've also taken all the standardized tests any highschooler should need to worry about and have scored highly in all of them.

About the lesson

I always begin by finding out where my student's at. There's no plan that fits all. Nor is there some phrase or "key" to any academic obstacle. It's going to take time, but building a solid foundation is where I begin. After getting to know the student, I then proceed on to tell them a basic structure I plan on focussing on throughout the tutoring process. Afterwards we simply follow that plan.

I've worked with students spanning many different ages and have better understood the differences that different ages bring to the tutoring experience.
