About Guilherme
I have participated in my high school's Work-Based Learning program, where I was a Teacher's Assistant for my Computer Science and Algebra professors during fall and spring semesters respectively. This program allowed me to dedicate one hour to assist students. I came across a variety of students, each possessing a slightly different learning style. I had to adapt to different ways of teaching to be successful at my program. This program has changed the way I approached subjects; I gained confidence, patience, and flexibility.

When I work with a new student, I make sure we are on the same page. I gather his/her's strengths and, most importantly, difficulties. This gives me an understanding of the student's overall foundation and how I can build upon it. After getting familiar with the student, I experiment with different teaching styles. Despite if he/she learns from visuals, examples, explanations, or repetition, I am flexible enough to promote the best educational methods for the new students.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
A recommendation I suggest students doing before asking questions is to reflect and elaborate on their thoughts. Applying this skill does not occur overnight; it takes active critical thinking to ensure that your words match your thoughts. By mastering this skill, I can tackle specific issues students have.
