About Aki

I am a dedicated Math tutor with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCCS) from Boise State University, USA. Currently teaching middle and high school students in Nepal, I bring both international experience and a deep understanding of local curricula. Mathematics can feel challenging, but with the right guidance, every student can master it. My approach is clear, patient, and personalized—I focus on building strong foundations, problem-solving skills, and most importantly, confidence in my students. Whether it’s arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, or calculus, I break down complex concepts into simple steps and help students see the logic behind the formulas. My goal is not only to help you succeed in exams but also to develop a genuine understanding and appreciation for math. With years of experience and proven methods, I’m committed to helping students achieve their academic goals and discover that math is not something to fear—it’s something they can truly excel at.

About the lesson

I am one of the top scorers in Math in middle - high schools and as well as in Bachelor. I believe math should feel clear, structured, and approachable—not overwhelming. I break down complex concepts into simple steps, using real-life examples and visual explanations to make abstract ideas easier to grasp. My lessons balance conceptual understanding with practical problem-solving, ensuring students not only know how to solve a problem but also why the method works. I also adapt my teaching style to each student’s learning pace—some need repetition and practice drills, while others thrive on challenges and applications. - A typical lesson plan Warm-up (5 minutes): Quick review of previously covered concepts. Concept Introduction (10–15 minutes): Step-by-step explanation with examples. Guided Practice (15 minutes): Working through problems together, encouraging student input. Independent Practice (10–15 minutes): Student applies the concept while I observe and provide feedback. Wrap-Up (5 minutes): Summarize key takeaways, assign practice/homework, and answer questions. - What sets you apart as a tutor I am a BSc CS graduate from Boise State University (ID/USA) which helps me bring strong academic foundation and International teaching perspective. I am teaching Middle and High School in Nepal so, I understand local curricula as well as global standards. I don’t just teach math; I help students build the self-belief that they can excel in it. I tailor lessons to match each student’s strengths, weaknesses, and goals. - Who the lessons are for Middle School Students (Grades 6–8): Building a strong foundation in arithmetic, pre-algebra, and geometry. High School Students (Grades 9–12): Mastering algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus and more. Exam Preparation: Helping students prepare for tests with strategies, timed practice, and concept reinforcement.
