About Katie
am a final year student of Masters Degree in Chemistry at the University of East Anglia.
I am about to move onto doing my Post-Graduate Research Project for 3 years in using metals to understand more about DNAs different structures, which has applications in medical diagnosis and drug improvement for things like cancer.
I love chemistry and science because it's the reason why we have such amazing medical treatment, developments in the understanding of the planet and the universe around us, improving every day life for normal people, and the endless opportunities open to us! It is also a lot of fun to do experiments in the laboratory!
I can show you how, even though science may seem hard, it can be fun and much easier to understand if you use different techniques and methods to learning. I will show you how to use different techniques for exam papers, exam stress and anxiety, revision, scheduling, time management, and mainly how to enjoy your learning!

I approach teaching by assessing the student first, to see where they are comfortable and how they answer questions. This allows for interactive learning and a plan to be made that is tailored to student's needs. Once the plan is set, I will ask how they learn best and their favourite ways of learning; be that interactive questions, small activities, group work, small powerpoints, videos, or anything else. This way, the student's less confident areas can be focused on, with techniques they love. This allows for progression in confidence, and teamwork between myself and the student.
I can tutor GCSE Maths, Sciences, English Literature and Language. I can also do A-Level Maths, Chemistry and English Literature. And at degree level, Chemistry.
No problem is too big, or too difficult, we can break them down as a team and build a student's confidence up!
