About Thandiswa

Hello and welcome!

My name is Thandiswa, and I am a student teacher at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Edgewood Campus, specialising in Mathematics. I am passionate about helping learners understand Mathematics, improve their academic performance, and develop confidence in their abilities.

My teaching approach is patient, supportive, and learner-centred. I understand that Mathematics can sometimes feel challenging, so I break down difficult concepts into simple, manageable steps. I use clear explanations, worked examples, and practice exercises to help learners understand not only how to solve problems but also why the methods work.

I aim to create a positive learning environment where every learner feels comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process. I can communicate in English and isiZulu to help learners understand concepts more clearly.

Whether you need help with homework, preparing for tests and examinations, or strengthening your understanding of Mathematics, I am here to support you at your own pace. Together, we will work towards improving your skills, building your confidence, and achieving your learning goals.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is friendly, patient, and learner-centred. I specialise in Mathematics and believe that every learner can succeed with the right support and guidance. I explain difficult concepts in simple English, using step-by-step examples, practical activities, and exercises to make learning easier and more enjoyable. I create a comfortable learning environment where learners can ask questions, make mistakes, and learn without fear.

I am also able to teach in English and isiZulu. During a typical lesson, I first assess the learner’s understanding, identify areas of difficulty, and explain the topic clearly. We then work through examples together before the learner attempts exercises independently. I provide feedback, correct mistakes, and give extra practice where needed.

My lessons are aimed at primary and high school learners who need help understanding Mathematics, improving their marks, preparing for tests and examinations, or building confidence in the subject. Whether a learner needs extra support or wants to improve their performance, I am committed to helping them learn at their own pace and achieve their academic goals.
