About Luis

I completed my Masters in Applied Mathematics and Statistics at CUNY Hunter College, and have worked there as a tutor and teacher for over 8 years. I have also taught at CUNY Guttman Community College and Kingsborough Community College, as well as tutor at Marymount Manhattan College and have tutored across the country in Valencia College (Orlando, FL).

I am an actor who focuses on theatrical clowning and Linklater Voicework. With the combination of these two disciplines, I am able to better see the unique individuality of each student, and find ways to work with each student, meeting them where they are at on any given day!

About the lesson

With my over 8 years of tutoring at the College level, I have seen and helped all kinds of students become more successful in their Math courses. Along with direct help with math problems, I help students develop plans for studying, identifying study habits that may not be helping them anymore, and how to work towards more positive ways of working!

I also have a background in theatre as a teaching artist, and with those listening skills, I am able to truly listen to each student and recognize their unique situation and help them in whatever way they may need!
