About Kent

I have taught English to students of all levels from absolute beginners to near proficiency to students from all over the world (Superprof.nl). My primary focus is to help students improve their English skills to pass exams or improve in school work. I have a passion for creative writing and literature and a master's degree in TESOL. I have taught high school English in Kansas and Missouri for seven years and taught abroad for six years. I'm now teaching high school. I want to help students improve their English language skills through casual conversation and make learning fun. Do you need help with a paper or the wording of a letter? Do you want to improve your speaking to sound like a native-English speaker? Tell me your goals and let's make them happen. The first 30 minutes are free.

About the lesson

Lessons are customized to fit the needs of the individual. A typical lesson involve conversation between student and teacher with feedback for improving accuracy and communication skills. If writing is part of your goal, writing assignments will be given and detailed evaluations and feedback will be provided in the lessons for improving spoken and written English. I specialize in creative writing.

Christine works at the Marriott Hotel on the Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri. She has employees who do not speak English. She has contracted with me to teach her employees. I have two groups of students I have been working with since June 20th, 2024. Most of the employees are beginner English students. We have worked on pronunciation and simple verb tenses using pictures and practice sentences of the illustrations. To date, I have taught ten hours.
