About Ashir
Hi, I’m Ashir! I completed my undergraduate degree at Kansas State University before moving to France for my Master’s in Energy Systems at IMT Atlantique.
I love building things, starting a project, getting it wrong, figuring out why, learning from it, and eventually making it work. For the past 5 years, I’ve been teaching and mentoring engineering students through projects, helping them not only understand the theory but also turn their ideas into something that actually works.
I’ve worked on control systems for electric vehicles, battery management systems, and even aircraft afterburner design. Today, I work at Schneider Electric on the next generation of data centers, where I develop new features, work on R&D projects, and train engineers. I also work extensively with MATLAB/Simulink and real-time simulation.
For me, teaching is about enabling you to become confident enough to figure things out yourself. That’s what we’ll work on together, understanding how things work and learning how to solve problems like an engineer.

My teaching approach is practical, intuitive, and adapted to each student’s level and goals. I start by making sure the fundamentals are clear, then connect theory to real engineering applications through examples, simulations, and hands-on exercises. My goal is not simply to help students solve an exercise, but to help them understand why a system behaves the way it does.
A typical lesson starts with a short review of the previous session, followed by an explanation of the key concept using simple examples. We then apply it through exercises or practical work in MATLAB/Simulink, control-system simulations, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) validation, or programming and CI/CD projects. I finish by summarizing the key takeaways and identifying what to practice before the next lesson.
What sets me apart is my combination of academic training and real-world R&D experience. I have worked on electric vehicles, batteries, energy systems and AI, and I currently develop next-generation energy and control solutions for data centers at Schneider Electric. This allows me to explain not only the theory, but also how technologies such as control systems, Modbus, GitHub CI/CD, data-center architectures and energy markets are actually used in industry.
My lessons are suitable for university students, engineering students, and anyone looking to strengthen their knowledge of control systems, energy systems, MATLAB/Simulink, automation, power systems, or related engineering subjects.
