About Isabella

I am a university student studying mechanical engineering and I am passionate about supporting students. I have had several tutors and have come back without the satisfaction of understanding the topic. I realised they lacked in the passion of teaching the subject and they mostly rely on using textbooks. I was expecting more useful resources. I have worked out what I could have done differently during my A-levels and have developed useful resources high grades. As a current university student I would like to provide my help to ensure my students understands and enjoy the topic with my useful resources provided.

About the lesson

I will first validate what Examination board my student is currently studying and will then proceed in understanding what is required to learn from their topic in my own time before the lesson. I will provide a checklist for each topic. I will start teaching using my PowerPoints. I will then provide specific worksheet(s). Before the lesson ends I will make sure my student ticks the boxes on the checklist to see whether if they understand or require further help on the specific subtopics. Homework will be set, for example I will ask my students to make revision flashcards/mindmaps/ posters or simply rewrite their notes (the best way they can revise from) to ensure that they can come back to revising those topics. If my student requires help with revision notes I am willing to help them. If the worksheets have not been completed during tutorial, I will ask them to finish them off for H/W. If completed I will provide more worksheets or ask them to review the next subtopic for H/W. Every lesson will have a starter, in which they will complete a short test or go through the answers for the worksheet and ask any further questions based on that worksheet. For every topic completed, my student will be asked to take a test under test conditions to see how much progress they have made and to view what subtopics they will need to work on.
