In my teaching I try to dismantle student's perceptions about their abilities, having struggled with learning anxiety at a young age myself. In lessons, I aim to understand student's concerns, confusion, and interests regarding their schoolwork and with that information create a learning environment that feels safe, inviting, and conducive to learning.
I am a young historian, currently half-way through my Master's degree after having completed a Bachelor of Arts in History and Women and Gender Studies with Honours. I have worked extensively as a teaching assistant, tutor, and researcher since high school. That experience has allowed me to tutor a range of ages, from the elementary school level where I have often assisted alongside my sister, a primary school teacher, to university where I have worked with students at my alma mater who had learning disabilities or school-related anxiety. I have also led group lessons at an undergraduate level as a Master's student, and have a familiarity with working in groups to help a range of needs. My greatest joy is teaching and I hope to teach professionally once finished my qualifications.
