About Yashika

I am a chemistry graduate with an MSc in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Glasgow, and someone who genuinely enjoys the subject and helping students discover that chemistry is not as scary as it seems first. I have learned that the right explanation at the right moment can change everything. I am patient, friendly, and good at breaking down big ideas to sizeable chunks. I know what it feels like to be confused by a topic, and I love guiding students to that moment when things finally "click". Outside of tutoring, I am a curious learner myself, always exploring new areas of science, reading about history and learning new languages! Having recently finished my postgraduate degree, I am planning to soon pursue a Research degree in Digital Chemistry. Whether it's mechanisms in organic, the structure and bonding in inorganic or the problem-solving of physical chemistry, my background has ensured I am comfortable through all major areas. If you want a tutor who’s supportive, clear, and genuinely invested in your progress, I’d be happy to work with you.

About the lesson

Chemistry can be intimidating, but with patience and clarity, it becomes surprisingly approachable. I start by identifying where a student's understanding gaps lie, then tailor each lesson to their pace and style. I focus on building clear, solid foundations because most struggles in chemistry come from missing or shaky basics so nothing feels overwhelming. My goal is for students to feel supported, confident, and genuinely able to understand why chemistry works, not just memorise it. Most lessons are 1 hour, but I can adjust depending on what the student needs, whether shorter sessions for quick help or longer ones for deep-dive topics or exam prep. I hold an MSc in Chemistry with a focus on Medicinal Chemistry. I’ve tutored for over a year at the university and high school level with both online and in-person support. As such, my lessons would suit high schoolers and undergraduate students the best. Whether you're building your basics, preparing for exams, or tackling advanced chemistry, I can help you understand the subject with confidence!
