About Petra

Working for over ten years at Bond University is not for everyone. I have seen many lecturers come and go because their teaching was not up to standard. The experience at Bond gives me the confidence that I can be the best tutor one can hope for. Writing, in all shapes and forms is what I studied and what I taught. Attention to every student in their own needs make the classes tailor made and suitable for every student. How long one needs a tutor varies per student, however, with the skills learned in the tutorials the students have a backpack full of tools they will be able to use in further education or employment. As Mark Twain said: " Writing is easy. All you have to do is cross out the wrong words."

About the lesson

It is hard to describe what a tutoring session with me looks like. I always tailor my classes to the need(s) of the student(s). Some students like to work independently with the materials handed to them. They prefer to have support when they need it. Others like to be coached, and work step-by-step with guidance from their tutor. I worked for over ten years at Bond University, the only private university in Australia. Teaching skills were valued very high and therefor the classes were small and individual coaching was offered for example in writing essays, business reports, advertising copy or academic papers. Two masters degrees and enrolment in a PhD program are the foundation of my educational skills.
Furthermore, I am a qualified primary school teacher. I equally enjoy working with young ones (four-twelve) as I do with the elder at university. Creative writing and non-fiction are subjects the children and myself thoroughly enjoy. Reading books and working with new media to publish and retrieve works of creative writing are skills for a lifetime.
For someone who needs a multi-facetted tutor in writing, based on a rich pallet of education and a broad skill of experience, I believe I am the right tutor to educated your children, from primary school to students for a master's. I was enrolled in a PhD on a scholarship in business research, QUT Brisbane resulting in completed coursework (GPA 83/100), publication in top-tier advertising journal and the Douglas C. West award for the best Advertising Creative Article 2022.
