About Kit

I simply love language! Communication and expression are the core goals of humanity; we want to be heard and to be understood. We are so curious and have so many questions about this world and all the wonderful things and people in it... I believe learning is lifelong and works wonders for a healthy and happy brain! I have a degree in Acting; five years of learning to understand texts from many different eras, and accurately representing their intentions on stage. Travelling is my true passion, and I have been fortunate to voyage all over the world in such a short life. My love of language inspired me to learn French and move to France to become a Professor of English with six different schools in Paris, offering classes to both young and mature students. At this time I hosted group language classes, and one-to-one sessions privately through Superprof. I am currently living in Edinburgh working as a Gardener and Model, as well as learning Spanish in preparation for my next adventure to South America. I love riding my bicycle, cooking tasty food and all things outdoors!

About the lesson

I feel that informal, relaxed approaches to learning a language can be really helpful to both student and tutor- nobody is put on the spot or stressed out by the lessons, and they work just like real life would. A walk, a café, or a visit to the museum can provide endless subject matter and ease of communication. In addition to this, I have experience delivering a variety of classroom teaching styles; formal classwork, preparation for language exams, job interview preparation, and oral/written/listening exercises to improve comprehension. While I am flexible with my teaching style, it should be understood by the student that always I attempt to infuse passion and enjoyment into the lessons, otherwise both parties are missing out on a valuable element of language. Learning is FUN :)

Perfect! My wife had a wonderful first trial lesson with Kit. She had an excellent opportunity to practice her conversational skills with Kit on different topics. Kit was more than generous with his time. He was very patient and understanding. The informal approach seems to have done wonders for . There are some suggestions which were made for future lessons which is great. Looking forward to our next lesson with Kit.

Exceptional conversation with Khadija; I feel that she has an extensive understanding of English (and the Latin similarities with French), an excellent vocabulary, and simply requires practice in order to boost confidence.
I would recommend, in response to a comment regarding writing, that Khadija should start off by writing (by hand if possible) a few short, simple sentences, then review them to check for spelling mistakes.
Examples;
"I walked out to the beach this afternoon, but it was cold because the wind was blowing."
"Tonight I want to prepare a special soup with carrots, celery, potatoes and lentils."

Computers/mobile phones are not great for this as they instantly correct or highlight errors. I suggest good old fashioned dictionary work, as our brains work very well when they have a challenge!
