About Sarfraz
Hello, my name is Sarfraz Ameer. I have an academic background in Chemistry, a Bachelor of Education and five years of teaching and tutoring experience.
Through my teaching experience, I have worked with students who had different levels of ability and confidence. Some understood concepts quickly, while others needed more time, simpler explanations and additional examples. This taught me that effective tutoring is not about rushing through a syllabus. It is about understanding where the learner is struggling and explaining the topic in a way that makes sense to them.
My teaching style is calm, organized and supportive. I break complicated questions into smaller steps and encourage students to ask questions freely. I do not criticize learners for making mistakes because mistakes help us identify exactly what needs to be improved.
My background in science education allows me to teach mathematical reasoning and scientific concepts through practical examples. I am especially comfortable teaching arithmetic, algebra, graphs, chemistry, biology, basic physics and scientific reasoning.
I understand that earning a GED can open the door to employment, further education and new personal opportunities. For that reason, I take each student’s preparation seriously and provide honest, focused support.
I do not promise unrealistic results or claim that one method works for everyone. I will provide clear teaching, regular practice, constructive feedback and a study plan suited to your present level and test date.
Book an introductory lesson and bring your latest practice-test score, if available. We will identify your strongest areas, discuss your difficulties and decide where your preparation should begin.
First introductory lesson
During the introductory lesson, we will:
• Discuss your GED goals and expected test date
• Review any previous test or practice-test scores
• Identify your strongest and weakest subjects
• Work through a few Math or Science questions
• Discuss your available study time
• Create a practical preparation plan
You do not need to prepare anything special. Bring any practice material or score report you already have, and we will start from there.

Returning to education after several years can feel difficult. You may remember some topics but feel completely lost with others. Fractions, algebra, graphs or scientific passages might look unfamiliar, and that can quickly affect your confidence.
There is no need to feel embarrassed about what you have forgotten.
In my GED preparation lessons, we will begin at your current level and work forward step by step. I explain concepts patiently, use simple language and give you enough guided practice before asking you to solve questions independently.
My lessons focus mainly on:
• GED Mathematical Reasoning
• GED Science
• Basic arithmetic and number operations
• Fractions, decimals and percentages
• Ratios, proportions and word problems
• Algebraic expressions and equations
• Geometry, area, perimeter and volume
• Graphs, tables and data interpretation
• Scientific passages and experiments
• Test-taking and time-management strategies
During our first lesson, we will discuss your test date, previous scores and the topics you find most difficult. I may also use a short diagnostic activity to identify the areas that need the most attention.
From there, I will prepare a focused study plan based on your needs.
A typical lesson may include:
A simple explanation of the topic
A worked example completed together
GED-style practice questions
Independent questions to check understanding
Discussion of mistakes and faster solving methods
A short practice task for the next lesson
For GED Math, I can help you with basic mathematics, algebra, geometry, graphs and quantitative problem-solving. We will also practise understanding word problems so that you can identify what the question is asking before beginning the calculation.
For GED Science, we can work on biology, chemistry, basic physics, earth science, experiments, variables, graphs and scientific data. My goal is not to make you memorize large amounts of information. Instead, I will help you understand how to read the information provided and use it to choose the correct answer.
I can also provide general GED study support, including:
• Creating a realistic weekly study schedule
• Organizing preparation for the four GED subjects
• Understanding multiple-choice questions
• Eliminating clearly incorrect answers
• Improving accuracy under time pressure
• Reviewing practice-test mistakes
• Building confidence before test day
My main teaching specialization is GED Math and Science. For Language Arts and Social Studies, I can assist with general reading strategies, interpreting passages, understanding graphs and organizing your preparation.
These lessons are suitable for:
• Adults returning to education
• Students who have been away from school for several years
• Learners who feel weak in mathematics
• Students preparing for their first GED attempt
• Students retaking Math or Science
• Learners who need patient and judgment-free support
• Students who want a clear study plan instead of random practice
You do not have to understand everything immediately. We will identify one weakness at a time and work on it until you feel more comfortable and independent.
