About Adam
I have formally tutored for a little over a year now. I prefer to do my tuition online over either an eLearning environment or an application such as Skype.
I have also worked as a laboratory demonstrator for undergraduate labs at my university. This involved teaching the techniques and underlying theory of a hands-on, practical experiment, demonstrating how to correctly, successfully, and safely carry out the experiment, and supervising the class as they do it themselves. Following this, I would be required to read, mark, and correct lab reports from these experiments.

My name is Adam, I am currently completing my PhD in synthetic materials chemistry. My PhD is based upon the design, synthesis, fabrication, and characterisation of new materials to be used in organic electronics, primarily in the solar energy field.
Prior to my PhD I attained a BSc with honours in Pure and Applied Chemistry, followed by a postgraduate MSc in Drug Design and Discovery.
I have been formally tutoring for around a year now, predominantly online as I feel this can be very effectively structured around my own and the students time.
I typically tutor Higher and Advanced Higher students, though I will happily tutor those in further education, adult learners, and younger school pupils.
I take a casual lecture-style approach to tuition typically, discovering any weak points a student may be experiencing and explaining this principle to them. From here I will give out some practice questions to reinforce the learning, and repeat until the student and myself are happy.
