About Thabang
I am currently a Master’s student in Environmental Law at the University of Cape Town, holding an LLB degree from North-West University, where I also participated in an LLB exchange program at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
During my undergraduate studies, I gained academic support experience as a Property Law Tutor, assisting students in understanding complex legal principles and improving their performance in the module.
I have also gained practical exposure to the legal field through a six-month internship at the North-West University Law Clinic, as well as vacation work at the Potchefstroom Magistrate’s Court and at Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr. In addition, I worked as a Research Assistant at the Climate Change Expertise Centre at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where I contributed to research in the field of environmental and climate law.
My academic and professional experiences have helped me develop a patient, structured, and supportive approach to teaching, with the aim of helping students build confidence in their understanding of the law.

My tutoring approach is student-centred, conversational, and practical. I believe that law should not be taught as something complicated or intimidating. Instead, I simplify complex legal concepts using clear terminology, real-life examples, and interactive discussion, making the law easier to understand and remember.
I offer one-on-one lessons designed to create a relaxed and comfortable learning environment where students feel free to ask questions and engage with the material. My goal is not just to help students pass, but to help them fully understand the law and excel academically.
My Teaching Methodology
My lessons focus on understanding rather than memorisation. During our sessions we will:
Recap key concepts from previous lessons before starting new material
Use mini knowledge checks throughout the lesson to test understanding
Break down difficult legal principles into simple and practical explanations
Use real-life examples and case applications to deepen comprehension
Students also receive additional academic support including:
