About Michelle
I have been teaching for over four years, but I am new to teaching writing. My visual arts students have exhibited their work in district shows, improved their ability to capture the world realistically tremendously, and achieved certification in Adobe Photoshop.

I received my masters of fine arts in writing from UNO after studying and writing at workshops in Madrid and San Miguel de Allende, MX. I focus on writing thrillers, drama, and travel writing.
I am available to tutor you individually or in small groups as you write your thesis, essays, or simply want to hone your skills as a playwriter, screenwriter, poet, or novelist. We will open each lesson with an exercise to jump start your creativity (even for non-fiction) and then focus on a writing assignment which will invite you to continue on your own. In addition, if you are focusing on a lengthy essay, we can focus entirely on editing and re-working whether they style is MLA, APA, or another.
As a teacher, I focus on finding out your learning style (visual, auditory, or kinaesthetic-tactile) during our first meeting as well as discovering your interests and passions so I can help you focus on inspired writing. I love to incorporate brain-storming, writer's voice, or character-development techniques as a warm up activity to allow you to step out of your usual routine and bring an arsenal of techniques home with you to combat writer's block. We will then get into writing a longer work through research with flash cards, outline, first draft, and final draft (depending on the subject matter you want to concentrate on)

Michelle was a great and understanding tutor. She always found a way to explain complicated topics in an easy to understand manor. Her sense of humor made the whole process very stress free. Would definitely recommend her to my friends.
