About ICey

My name is Icey, and I have been a yoga instructor for over 13 years (or more, if we're counting! ). My journey began with a 200-hour RYT certification in 2009 in Beijing, China, and a year later, I completed my 300-hour certification. Shortly after graduating, my first boss approached me to become a teacher training assistant and stay at the studio. I was deeply grateful and excited to be a part of a top-ranked yoga training studio in China, frequented by world-renowned teachers like John Scott, Chuck Miller, Kino, and Patrick Creelman, who conducted workshops there annually. After college, I packed my bags, boarded a train to Beijing, and embarked on my new life and yoga journey.

Surrounded by exceptional teachers and inspiring coworkers, my growth was exponential. I continued learning and teaching, eventually progressing to teaching RYT yoga training – it felt like living in a dream. I was doing what I was truly passionate about, and I cherished the opportunity to help others along their yoga journeys.

Yoga didn't just enhance my life; it made me better at living it.

For personal reasons, I left that place in 2014/2015. Nevertheless, I continued teaching corporate and hotel yoga classes for our studio and launched the "City Yoga" workshop at 5-star venues. I also worked at a yoga technology company during the boom of fitness and yoga in China from 2015 to 2018, contributing to teacher recruitment and training.

My life has been a "yoga life" – a continuous cycle of practice, learning, and teaching. I've had the privilege of meeting beautiful souls, forming essential friendships, and, of course, finding my one and only

About the lesson

Hello beautiful souls.

I'm Icey, I have been a yoga instructor for over 10 years, teaching yoga teacher training in China and practicing on my own for over thirteen years worldwide. However, since I had my son last year in Japan, I've found everything to be much more challenging.

My hubby's work has been demanding, and I've been trying to navigate my new role as a mother. Additionally, my rheumatoid arthritis has worsened, preventing me from practicing yoga or working out, and I've been dealing with eczema problems as well. I adore my baby, but I've experienced some of the darkest moments of my life.

Despite facing these challenges, I've spoken with many of my mom friends and realized that some of them are dealing with similar issues. I've come to understand that while your spouse and friends can offer support and love, ultimately, you are the one who must "save" yourself and persevere through these struggles. It was during this period that I had an idea: maybe I could help other moms like me.

I hope to utilize my strengths to assist others. Yoga has allowed me to start "living" again, and I'm enthusiastic about offering yoga classes. My aspiration is for everyone to come together in a supportive space where we can be ourselves and help one another and I'm excited about the possibility of meeting you and forming friendships with all you beautiful souls ️.
