About Robert
Martial MATHers currently consists of one military flight instructor that aims to improve students' overall math performance. He understands that math does not come naturally to most people, and thus tailors his approach accordingly. Since he knows that each new math focus is built upon previously learned principles, he may re-establish a student's mathematical foundation, as this process shows the greatest potential for the student to outgrow the need for a tutor. He is equally passionate about both teaching and learning, as is demonstrated in his teaching and learning about the airplane he currently flies in the Air Force.
Currently teaching an accredited Air Force Formal Flight Course both virtually and in-person
Certified Air Force flight Instructor since 2011
Additionally certified in Classroom Instruction since 2015
Air Mobilty Command Instructor of the Year 2013
Associate's Degree in Aviation Operations
I especially love that most of my current students have no flight experience whatsoever, and by the time they leave our school they are able to fly by themselves. Helping someone make a leap of that kind of depth is worth every second spent in the process.
I encountered an individual in 2007 who didn't readily absorb a concept that I had previously grasped, and I innately felt a burning desire to assist in that individual's rise to proficiency. That situation is long gone, but that fire never went out, so I've been teaching ever since, officially and unofficially.
I have an associate's degree in Aviation Operations with a background in architectural engineering. I currently teach an accredited flight course at an Air Force Formal Flight Training School in both the virtual and in-person realms. I have been a certified Air Force flight instructor since 2011. I have been additionally certified for classroom instruction since 2015.

Since everyone is unique, I genuinely get to know my student. This way I get a feel for the way they think and approach certain concepts. It helps identify stronger or weaker learning methods, as to not waste precious time with an approach that is not likely to produce positive results. I give the attention necessary to see real progress in as little time as possible.
I have mostly worked officially with adult male and female Air Force Flight students between 18 and 40 years of age. Unofficially, it ranges all ages with people from various walks of life.
Please realize that "teacher" is just a title, while the act of "teaching" requires significant interpersonal skills, care, emotion, and genuine concern for the individual's success. It's easy to make the mistake of simply hiring a teacher. Please make sure you find someone with the resolve to actually teach.
My unit recently received post graduation reviews from former students which contained many negative remarks about their experiences with the various instructors. However, almost every student individually commended me, by name, for their positive experience with me as their instructor.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Before talking to a teacher, ask yourself if you truly want to do or be better at whatever it is they would be teaching you. If the answer is "no," then there is little chance in making much substantial progress.

Awesome tutor, not only does he have you understand what you’re learning but makes it fun as well. Not many people can do that, especially past tutors I’ve had. I’ve went through so many but I’ve learned the most through him.
Very easy going style and encourages you. His demeanor reenforces the confidence you have gained under his tutelage. He ensures that you know the material and makes sure your application of it was appropriate.
Can’t wait for a refresher with him!Rob is an amazing tutor when I had a question that I wasn't sure about and I called him. He was able to figure out the question I was really trying to ask and come up with a quick solution remembering the entire formula for memory. Very knowledgeable and skilled at math.
Rob White was one of the best instructors I’ve had. Easy to learn from and knowledgeable in his subject. Would recommend A++
Overall he was very good. He is very clear when he teaches and is very patient if you have a hard time remembering small details.
Rob White is a great teacher. Unlike other instructors who I voiced my uncertainty to, he listened. He took hours of time out of his day to meet with me to make sure I felt more comfortable doing my job. He was patient, thorough, and kind. It can be hard for me to focus and comprehend things but I had no issues with Mr. White. I feel more confident when I work thanks to him.
He is very knowledgeable and well versed. Has patience with his students. Always pushes and helps you look at the whole picture.
After going through a course with him as an instructor I can say he is very clear and concise. As an instructor he made me feel as if he really did care about my education and was very personable when dealing with me and fellow students. I highly recommend him as he provided a great environment for learning.
I’ve been a student of Rob’s now for several months in a military technical training (school) setting and I have nothing but positivity to express. First off his professionalism is indicative of his teaching style, which is dedicated and full of motivation. Rob is always more than willing to answer questions at any time and not just give you the answer but get you to think and try and see if you can work it out yourself and use the tools and knowledge you’ve gained thus far which I’ve found to be extremely helpful in both learning and retaining material. However if you find that you are having a hard time understanding something or figuring out the solution or answer, Rob will take the time to thoroughly explain everything and show how it relates to other subjects to better help you grasp the concept. Basically, in a nut shell... you want Rob to be your tutor!
Mr. White taught me while I was training in my job. He was very patient and attentive the entire time. He was also very good about letting me know what areas I was doing well in and which ones needed more practice/improvement. I highly recommend him to anyone that needs help learning!
He’s very knowledgeable on topics and shares all of it and his experiences. Makes sure you truly understand something before moving on.
Not only does he understand the curriculum, but he knows how to teach it in a way that is easy to understand. He is very patient and doesn’t put pressure you when you’re trying to problem solve. Would highly recommend!
Rob White is an intelligent professional and an excellent teacher. What I liked about working with him was his willingness to go the distance to ensure his students were prepared for anything. Anytime I requested extra time for academics he arranged it, and provided me with the help I needed. I received the distinguished graduate award for my class and I attribute that to Rob White’s teaching. I saw him take time from his personal life to help students who were struggling with the material and then witnessed them succeed as a result of his guidance. His best attributes include his intelligence, willingness to teach, and his commitment to his students.
Great instructor, very devoted to his students. I once didn’t understand certain aspects of the subject and he stayed an extra 2 hours behind to reiterate them to me. 10/10 would recommend
Rob is not only extremely knowledgeable in the subject matter, he's a very positive, encouraging instructor. Patience is his forte and his manner is very personable and relatable. Always ready to help in any way he can!
Honestly a great teacher, able to quickly understand my learning style and adapt to it to teach in an effective manner.
Rob White, aka "Martial MATHers" was my instructor for my initial training at my job. Over the course of a couple months he was very helpful and took time to explain every aspect of the lesson that he was teaching each day. He was very knowledgeable and I could tell he cared about his students. I highly recommend him for any sort of teaching job. I have nothing but high praise for Rob.
Mr White is an awesome instructor. He is not only knowledgeable, but he breaks down the information for application and a better understanding of why it is to be applied.
Mr. White has been my instructor for 5 weeks now and has definitely helped me improve on my methods. Very approachable and down to Earth- both very important key aspects for me to learn.I’ve had a experience working with Mr. White. As an instructor/teacher he has been a great asset to my studys in pursuing my goals as a student. He ensures that the student will get a full understanding of the topic at hand before moving on and is cognizant of keeping a pace that works best for the student. He is very thorough with his explanations, and personally found that very helpful.
He was very knowledgeable in his field and anytime someone had a question about anything he not only answered it but walked everyone through the process to find the answer and make ensured it was understood by all. He was very patient with everyone and went above and beyond what others would do while instructing. If I had to go through training again I hope that White is there to assist. Overall, great instructor and role model.
Rob is patient and approaches each challenge with multiple was of resolving it.
Sgt White was a great instructor taught me a lot in regards to the systems in the jet. No complaints here it was a great experience the two times I believe I flew with him and the classroom instructions via zoom.
Mr. White has a passion for math and the patience of any great teacher. He is extremely knowledgeable in mathematics and really helped me understand a lot of the material I was struggling with.
Although I’ve never experience Sgt. (Mr) white tutoring math in particular, the experience I’ve had learning from him has exceeded exceptional. The way he was able to adjust the way he teaches to his particular students and to be able to know exactly how to actually get the point of whatever he teaches off is great. Having said that, with personal experience I felt the I was pushed to my full potential and without him I don’t know if I’d be in the same spot I am today!
His patience is top notch. He understands as an instructor it is his job to find a way for students to learn, not the students responsibility to learn what he teaches.
Great!
Very clear when giving instructions, and clarified things I didn't understand. Good with giving praise and criticism. Laid back and created a relaxed, no pressure environment.
As an instructor, he is very willing to aid in not only the instruction itself but individual life problems as well. The instruction is very thorough and you will learn ample amounts of knowledge. He pushes you to learn things that you may have never even thought of. He will give very honest reviews, including the bad and also what you did well. He’s a very good instructor overall.
I was instructed by him last spring/summer and even though it was during the pandemic and we faced a lot of adversities with distance learning. He took the time during our minimal 1 on 1, White made sure to explain concepts that I was struggling with. HIGHLY motivated teacher that will go out of his way to make sure you not only pass but pass with flying colors. 10/10 would recommend
Amazing skills, helped out a ton all around improving the most annoying subject ever (MATH). They make it so easy to comprehend all the materials. If you are struggling, I would HIGHLY suggest you give them a try!
