About Derick

I'm a native English speaker passionate about helping students build real confidence with the language. I believe that learning English shouldn't feel intimidating — it should feel achievable, practical, and even enjoyable. Whether you're just starting out or refining your fluency, I take the time to understand your goals and adapt my teaching to suit your pace and personality.

I'm patient, reliable, and genuinely invested in seeing my students improve. I show up prepared for every lesson and keep communication clear and consistent, so you always know what to expect and how you're progressing.

About the lesson

Hi, I'm Derick Jia Ren, a native English speaker offering friendly and practical English lessons for students of all ages and levels, from young beginners to adults working on fluency. My approach focuses on real conversation practice, building vocabulary naturally, and correcting grammar in context rather than through rote memorization — so lessons feel more like practice than a lecture.

Each lesson typically runs 60 minutes, adjusted based on the student's age and attention span. I tailor my teaching style to each learner, whether that means focusing on everyday conversation, exam preparation, or building confidence in reading and writing. Lessons are suitable for complete beginners as well as those looking to polish their fluency.
