About Nina

I am a passionate Chemistry tutor with over four years of teaching experience and an MPhil in Chemistry, deeply interested in the chemistry of art and cultural heritage preservation. My teaching approach is holistic, interdisciplinary, and rooted in real-world applications. I help students explore how chemistry plays a vital role in analyzing pigments, understanding material degradation, and designing safe conservation treatments. I often use historical art pieces and case studies to make learning engaging, meaningful, and memorable.

Students learn how chemical analysis techniques such as spectroscopy, chromatography, and microscopy reveal hidden details within artworks. I guide them in interpreting results and connecting chemical data with artistic and historical contexts. Ethical considerations in restoration and preservation are always emphasized. Respect for authenticity, originality, and cultural value remains central to every lesson.

I enjoy working closely with art history students, conservationists, and learners curious about the science behind preserving human creativity. Each session is carefully adapted to match individual learning styles and academic goals. Clear explanations, practical insights, and thoughtful discussions shape my teaching. My aim is to build strong understanding, curiosity, and confidence. Together, we apply chemistry to protect, preserve, and better understand our shared cultural legacy.

My teaching approach in Chemistry is relaxed, friendly, and deeply focused on real-life applications. I believe students learn best when they understand how chemistry connects directly to laboratory work and everyday science. I specialize in analytical chemistry, instrumental analysis, spectroscopy such as NMR, IR, and UV-Vis, chromatography, and quantitative analysis techniques. I explain concepts step by step, using simple examples and practical demonstrations to build strong understanding.

I focus on helping students clearly understand lab methods, data interpretation, and experimental accuracy. Special attention is given to supporting learners in genetics and microbiology by strengthening their knowledge of chemical and laboratory techniques. Complex ideas are broken down into easy steps so learning never feels overwhelming. Practice-based learning is encouraged to build both confidence and skill.

Assignments, experiments, and exam preparation are guided with clarity and patience. I emphasize problem-solving, logical thinking, and correct lab procedures. Each session is adapted to match the student’s pace and learning style. My goal is to help every learner grow academically, think scientifically, and confidently excel in both theory and practical work.
