About Destiny

My name is Destiny and I am an undergraduate at the college of UH Manoa. I plan on becoming a teacher within the next year and have a passion for learning with the young minds of our world. I care about the process of students who learn. My goal as a teacher is to develop a safe space that strongly urges respect, kindness, and creativity.

About the lesson

Class begins in a unique way that most would not expect.
The theme of the class would be created to identify with the theme.

A topic will be brought to light—for example, watercolor.
An introduction through many of my examples and famous painters will be portrayed.

I like to have an activity that correlates to our topic before we begin our lesson. If you enjoy art, these activities will be fruitful!

The question would be, are you familiar with watercolor?

After our activities, I will ask the student to watch me paint by example. Then, the student would begin to follow me and my examples as I model how one should paint with watercolor. Finally, the student will be given free rein to create their masterpiece with my assistance if and when needed.

I use many of my own inspirations to display imagination, inspiration, and creativity. Music will play, ideas will be heard, and colors will turn from paint into images that were not there a moment before.
