About Jack

Hello!

My name is Jack Walsh and I am a Finance Director with 18 years' experience. I started my career in Finance at the age of 16 with an AAT apprenticeship as a Trainee Accountant.

My career went from Trainee Accountant, Accounts Assistant, Assistant Management Accountant, Management Accountant, Finance Manager, Group Finance Manager, Financial Controller and then Finance Director.

I have experienced every aspect of Finance alongside studying AAT and then CIMA.

I work full time running a busy Finance and Operations team, but really want to pass on my experience to growing Finance Professionals.

About the lesson

Sometimes the learning process can be quite tedious. I find a mix between learning the knowledge and applying to real life scenarios help students obtain a better understanding. You will encounter both with me!

AAT Lesson Structure:

-Review of previous topic to ensure fully understood
-Introduction to the new topic and what it entails
-Work through knowledge of the topic whilst applying real life scenarios where possible, ideally catered to the business you currently operate in to enhance understanding
-Q&A throughout the whole process -no such thing as a silly question!
-Summarise topics and set tasks in preparation for our next session.

Career Advice Sessions:

I also offer career advice whether you are starting your journey in finance, or stuck in a position and want to get to the next level. In my career I have covered every aspect in day to day finance alongside other elements such as dealing with external stakeholders such as the bank/auditors to implementing a new system.

We will start with an informal chat and go from there - these sessions are less structured.
