About Phillip

As a former Headteacher, I’ve had extensive experience designing effective timetables and fostering productive learning habits. I specialise in helping students achieve their best, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or English as an Additional Language (EAL). My teaching style is adaptive, tailored to suit each student's needs. My main passion lies in teaching Chemistry. With over 30 years of experience in high-performing UK schools, I bring a deep understanding of various curricula, including AQA, OCR, IB, and Pre-U. I pride myself on making complex concepts relatable and ensuring my teaching resonates with all levels of understanding. During the Covid pandemic, I honed my skills in online teaching, though I also have extensive classroom experience. I am more than happy to support students both online and at home. Importantly, my approach is student-centred. We’ll work at your pace and tailor a plan to your goals. I value your time and believe in working hard and stopping once you achieve success, rather than stretching lessons unnecessarily.

About the lesson

It is important that you are able to apply your subject knowledge to new scenarios. Lessons are structured to build on your current understanding and develop new knowledge through recall and repetition. We will explore the content and use past papers to hone your examination skills. Importantly, we will go at your pace.
