About James

"I’ve been teaching for over four years, and I know that education should build confidence—not drain your wallet. The right approach makes all the difference, and my goal is to help you learn efficiently, so you get the most out of your time and investment while becoming truly independent in your learning.

About the lesson

I can teach everything from young ESOL learners to advanced adult students, plus NCEA, GCSE, and creative writing. Whether you want a strict, curriculum-based approach or a flexible, tailored learning experience, I’ve got you covered. I'll save you the bureaucratic bloat of the language school model and get right to the point of what they're expecting from you in the test situation. If you want real-life skills, I can write you tailored lessons that are much more realistic than the stuff you find in official textbooks. I’m modern and forward-thinking while still respecting tradition and proven models.

Perfect! James is a professional and polite tutor. I took 20 hours of lessons with him within two weeks to prepare for my IELTS speaking, and I noticed an instant improvement. He also has a private studio for teaching, which makes the lessons more focused and comfortable. If you are taking the Cambridge English test as well, he will be your ideal coach.

Jun Jian has an excellent work ethic and he is a very friendly and personable guy. Working with Jun Jian was a hugely valuable experience, reminding me just how demanding these IELTS examinations can be. Any tutor would be lucky to get to work with a student who is this focused and determined.
