About Lauren

I’m a UNC Chapel-Hill graduate offering English tutoring for elementary through college school students and non-native speakers. With over three years of experience and background as a collegiate peer tutor, I bring patience, adaptability, and a personalized approach to each session. I work well with diverse learners and tailor lessons to meet individual needs whether it’s reading comprehension, spelling, grammar, writing, or ESL support. Let’s build confidence and mastery together! Flexible scheduling and virtual options available.

About the lesson

As a tutor, I focus on student-centered, adaptive, teaching methods. I use a mix of visual, auditory, and interactive strategies to meet each student's learning style. I appreciate the importance of break time to refocus, like 2-minute drills to stand up and “get the wiggles out” for all ages. I continually practice this in my clinical and classroom education, as I am currently in my final year as a doctoral-level student in physical therapy. Whether it’s breaking down complex grammar rules, guiding structured writing practice, or building vocabulary through real-world examples, I ensure every session is engaging and easy to follow. I’m incredibly patient and experienced working with learners of all abilities. I create a judgment-free environment where students feel confident to ask questions and grow at their own pace.
