About Sayar

I am a Doctoral Research Scholar at the Department of Film Studies at Jadavpur University. I used to be an engineer before but was severely dissatisfied with the corporate world and hence joined the Film Studies postgraduate course at Jadavpur University where I excelled. This also gave me the opportunity to learn ancient languages like Latin and delve into Classics. As a token of my passion for language, I secured a summa cum laude certificate and a gold medal from the American Classical League at their National Latin Exam as well as a red ribbon at National Greek Exam, both conducted in the USA. I believe under current circumstances, an emphasis on humanities subjects is of the utmost importance from the rudimentary stages of education in order to build empathy indispensable for building a better future and critical thinking skills.

About the lesson

In lieu of the traditional note-making approach (which will also be there in moderation), my objective is to offer an insight to the text itself and build the ability to read historical as well as literary texts critically from an early age.
