About Sarah
I hold an M.A. in Applied Linguistics-Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and have over 20 years' experience in the English language teaching industry. Before launching my small independent business as a skills-based English Language and Communication Coach, I taught in three programs at the University of Illinois at Chicago for over 12 years: Intensive English Program, English for International Professionals Program, International Teaching Assistants Program. I work from Oak Park, IL (USA).

My approach as a coach depends on the learner and their specific needs & short-term goals. I prioritize delivering structured & engaging sessions that match your specific goals from the start.
For working professionals who are advanced learners/proficient speakers of English, we work with both authentic work-related tasks (e.g., beginning a presentation, responding to interview questions, writing an email) and skill-building activities during each session.
For intermediate learners, I typically use a textbook and integrate additional online materials.
I typically work remotely with students via Zoom or Microsoft Teams. I'm open to alternatives.
