About Emily

I am a native English speaker with a neutral American accent. I have completed training in several certification courses, including TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language), TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Grammar Specialist, and training in phonics and public speaking.

I began teaching English as a second language to children in 2018. Since then, I have taught thousands of individual classes to students from around the world. I am excited to share my expertise with your family!

About the lesson

My unique program provides a structured approach to growing vocabulary, developing sentence structure, and improving pronunciation. Young students stay engaged by discussing pictures, reading stories, and role playing realistic conversation scenarios.

New words and ideas are introduced thematically, as they relate to real situations and concepts. By using vocabulary words in context, kids are able to make connections between the things they are learning and their own daily lives. This puts greater emphasis on conversation skills and personal expression.

Lessons will be adapted to meet the needs of each learner, but are most suited for students who are already familiar with the ABCs, are able to read simple sentences in English and have a knowledge of some basic English vocabulary words, but do not speak English as their primary language. Ages 5 to 17 are welcome.

Children generally learn best in shorter time intervals. I recommend scheduling 30 minute lessons, rather than 1 hour. Send me a message to inquire about schedule and availability!
