About Paula
Hi, I am a highly experienced Primary School teacher. I have a teaching degree from Lancaster University. I am fun, kind and patient. I have lots of resources for all ages in KS1 and KS2. I will assess your child to discover areas they find challenging, as well as their strengths, and carefully plan lessons which will help them to make great progress. I have lots of experience in working with children who may have special needs such as dyslexia, ASD or ADHD, plus others. I have spent many years preparing children for the end of KS2 tests, and if you would like your child to prepare for school entrance exams, I can help with that too. I have lots of 11 + resources. During the last 20 years, I have taught in every year group from Early Years to Year 6. I have attended recent training on safeguarding children as well as courses on the latest ideas in teaching English, Maths, Science and all other curriculum subjects. I can also offer English and Maths at KS3. I am experienced in online teaching and can offer well-planned, engaging lessons via Zoom and Skype.

I work with Primary aged children and I believe all children deserve the best start in life. In English, I focus on reading skills (decoding and comprehension); improving spelling (using a synthetic system of phonics and whole word recognition, as well as exploring the different spelling rules; and grammar. In Mathematics, I work to build children's fluency and then extend through reasoning and investigation questions.
