About Tamar

Hello! My name is Tamar and I am a student at the University of Washington. I tutor to aid students in their academic journey, while inspiring those around me to achieve their full potential and unlock the opportunities that education provides.

I have been involved in my immediate community since I was 14 years old, tutoring and helping my peers and their siblings. Now as a sophomore in college, I regularly teach students of all ages, from elementary students to students in graduate programs, and even working adults. I love what I do and I hope to assist you to the best of my abilities.

Some of my credentials include:

- 1450 SAT Score

- Score of 5 in AP Lang, AP Spanish Lang, and AP Psychology

- AP Scholar with Distinction

- 3.8 Cumulative High School GPA having taken 10 AP Courses

- 3.7 Cumulative University GPA Cum Laude

I have worked as a Professional Tutor through Varsity Tutors since 2019, and was a Team Manager for Elementary and Middle School students through Destination Imagination for five years prior to entering college. I now study business at the University of Washington and am a Dean's List student.

About the lesson

My typical process for working with a new student is to begin with a phone call, either with them or a parental figure, to establish goals and expectations. Afterwards, we proceed with logistical scheduling and begin sessions on the students platform of choice. As I am a virtual tutor, Zoom is very popular with my clients, as well as the utilization of Google Docs for shared work.

I would definitely recommend Tamar as a tutor, and I love that I can just text her whenever I need help and she always gets back to me. She is so helpful. I am taking a psychology course as a working professional and do not always have the time to study, so she makes things easy for me to understand and has saved my grades!

Working with Tamar has been a pleasure. She is very knowledgeable and goes above and beyond. Her communication style is straightforward and she does an excellent job of balancing her academic/personal life with her tutoring duties. Even though she is only 19, she is a much better teacher than most of the one’s I have at my college. Amazed by her!
