About Arief

I am a Secondary Mathematics teaching in one of the Cambridge school in Indonesia and I am currently teaching IGCSE Additional Mathemtics course and A-level Mathematics. I have been teaching mathematics since 2008, tutoring students who are taking IB Diploma Mathematics or the Cambridge A-level Mathematics. Teaching maths and watching students as they "clicked" with mathematics understanding is an experience of its own and a rewarding one. I am very encouraged and spirited when students whom I assisted am able to "click" with mathematics. I personally believe that everyone will have the potential to be good in mathematics, the main variable is every students have their own learing pace, you can not force every students to learn at the same pace using the same pattern.

About the lesson

1) Proper introduction and establish a "common ground" where we can communicate comfortably

2) Asks students on what is the current topics they are studying

3) How are they performing/following in their mathematics course

4) Asks students to share area of mathematics that they are struggling

5) Discuss recent/current mathematics topics

6) Design a plan on how to remedy past topics and also how to move forward to improve understanding

7) Contant re-evaluation and adjustment after each meetings to ensure the discussion/meeting effectivity and efficiency
